Despite two recent parliamentary hearings on racism in advertising, new research confirms that "white" media continue to garner a disproportionate share of South Africa’s advertising revenue. The implication is that sustained inequality in spend prevents local media from painting a more realistic and inclusive picture of South African society.

Pool phase finds ASEC Mimosa in trouble

The pool phase of the African Champions League reaches the halfway mark this weekend, with favourites ASEC Mimosa of Ivory Coast in deep trouble, sitting at the bottom of the table with three points behind Ismailia and two adrift of Enyimba of Nigeria and Simba, who upset title holders Zamalek of Egypt in the final qualifying round.
