South African leading footwear brand Bathu has announced the launch of its latest sneaker range, Ndofaya. This new collection pays homage to the spirit of the Meadowlands community and celebrates resilience, strength and all the success rooted in the heart of Ndofaya.

In a momentous collaboration, Bathu has joined forces with the renowned South African icon Mandla Spikiri Mofokeng, aka The King Don Father, to also celebrate him, his authenticity, his musical  journey and his staying true to who he is, as well as his work and his contribution to South African culture.

“Today, we celebrate and honour kwaito legends for all their contributions, from the pioneers of the 90s and early 2000s to now: DJ Christos, Boom Shaka, Trompies, Zola 7, KB Motsilanyane, Tamara Dey, Bongo Maffin, 999 and Spikiri. Bathu is a South African brand that celebrates the stories of those who have had a huge influence on our style and fashion through their music. Our latest sneaker edition, Ndofaya, seeks to honour these pioneers and local legends for their invaluable contribution to the fibre and culture of South Africa,” said Cedrick Diphoko, Managing Director of Bathu.

Inspired by the rich cultural heritage and vibrant community life of Ndofaya, Bathu’s Ndofaya collection encapsulates the essence of Meadowlands in each carefully crafted pair of shoes. The design incorporates elements that reflect the dynamic spirit and unwavering determination of the people of Ndofaya.

“The King Don Father’s journey mirrors the ethos of Bathu’s Ndofaya collection. His dedication, hard work, and commitment to his roots make him the perfect embodiment of the spirit that the brand aims to celebrate,” said Diphoko.

“I am honoured to be a part of this collaboration with Bathu. The Ndofaya collection holds a special place in my heart as it represents the resilience and strength of the people of Meadowlands. It’s a testament to the power of community and the ability to overcome challenges. I believe the Ndofaya shoe will not only be a symbol of pride for Ndofaya, but for all South Africans,” said Mandla Spikiri.
