Saddam leaves the devil behind

The Devil apparently hangs out nowadays in Berlin, Moscow, Johannesburg, or most likely, Australia or Shanghai, China. The Devil is hanging out anywhere where there is money and trouble to be made. But let’s not go there too soon. The Devil was most recently seen slouching around in Mesopotamia, currently referred to as Iraq.

The Interior Minister launched an image makeover with his presidential bid amid the pomp of a glittering United States-style rally in southern Paris.

Ferrari start life after Schumacher

Ferrari began life after Michael Schumacher on Sunday when they unveiled their new car for the 2007 Formula One season, which they hope will reclaim the world title. The Italian team finished second to Renault in the drivers’ and constructors’ championships last season before Schumacher retired from racing.

Struggling Pirates beaten by Celtic

Bloemfontein Celtic came from behind to beat struggling Pirates 3-1 in a Premier Soccer League (PSL) match played in front of a capacity crowd at Vodacom Park Stadium in Bloemfontein on Sunday. In other matches, Kaizer Chiefs beat Benoni Premier United 2-0 and Moroka Swallows beat PSL log leaders Silver Stars 1-0.

ANC leaders flock to Yengeni’s release

Former African National Congress (ANC) chief whip and fraud convict Tony Yengeni was released from the Malmesbury prison on Monday morning. Yengeni was set free having served just more than four months of his original four-year sentence. Earlier, a group of senior Western Cape ANC leaders arrived at the Malmesbury prison to welcome him back into society.
