Orlando Pirates not so happy

Orlando Pirates, the self-proclaimed ”Happy People” of the Premier Soccer League, on Wednesday found themselves looking more like the ”Harassed People” as an assortment of problems descended on the glum Buccaneers camp. The increasingly shaky log leaders’ woes started with a defeat against Lamontville Golden Arrows.

Katongo guides Cosmos to victory

If Jomo Cosmos want to stay in top-flight football, they will have to keep their fingers crossed that their Zambian striker Christopher Katongo stays fit. Katongo proved a handful as he guided his visiting Cosmos side to a morale-boosting 3-0 victory over Supersport United in their Castle Premiership encounter on Wednesday evening.

Roddick moves up at Paris Masters

Top-seeded Andy Roddick beat Taylor Dent 6-4, 6-7 (2), 7-5 on Wednesday to reach the third round at the Paris Masters. Meanwhile, ninth-seeded Thomas Johansson of Sweden beat Belgium’s Kristof Vliegen 6-3, 6-2 to move into the third round. He next plays number six Ivan Ljubicic of Croatia.

Time Warner chief reveals talks to sell AOL stake

Time Warner on Wednesday confirmed that discussions are under way to sell a stake in the internet business America Online to an outside investor. The media conglomerate also announced that it will more than double a planned share buyback to ,5-billion, in an attempt to defuse a shareholder rebellion led by veteran corporate raider Carl Icahn.
