Ford fears South African cricket exodus

As a child, Graham Ford dreamed of playing cricket on the English county circuit. He never realised that ambition but as director of cricket at Kent, he has helped a raft of other South Africans to do so. Although he is adamant that it was never his intention, Ford has overseen the establishment of a virtual South African colony in Canterbury.

Pakistan forced onto the back foot against England A

Pakistan ended the third day of their four-day match against England A as they started it — in the field — after a first innings collapse on Saturday. In the tourists’ final first-class match before the first Test against England at Lord’s begins on Thursday, they were bowled out for 242 in reply to England A’s 595 for nine declared.

The wicket-keeper surprised captain and non-striker Ricky Ponting when he exited after a ball from Tapash Baisya flew to Khaled Mahmud at first slip.
