Eagles too strong for Dolphins

A spate of wide deliveries by the Dolphins — there were 19 extras amongst the first 22 runs — did much for the cause of the Eagles as they came back to snatch victory by three wickets in their MTN domestic championship cricket match at Kingsmead on Friday night.

‘Duminy is hammering on the door’

Cape Cobras coach Shukri Conrad believes that national coach Mickey Arthur is doing the country a disservice by not including batsman JP Duminy in the national squad. Conrad made his plea after Duminy, who continues to put pressure on the top players, scored another hundred last weekend in the SuperSport Series.

Eagles prove they are the champions

The Diamond Eagles proved with their victory of 82 runs over the Dolphins at the Outsurance Oval in Bloemfontein on Saturday that they are the SuperSport Series cricket champions for the 2007/08 season. It was the central franchise’s sixth trophy out of a possible 11 since the franchise system was introduced.

Titans, Cobras heading for a draw

The Titans had a slender first-innings lead of 10 runs with four wickets in hand when bad light stopped play on the third day of their SuperSport Series match against the Cape Cobras at Willowmoore Park in Benoni on Saturday. In Johannesburg, the Lions were playing the Warriors.
