Capello: Beckham could play at 2010 World Cup

David Beckham could play for England at the 2010 World Cup finals in South Africa if he looks after himself, coach Fabio Capello has said. ”The door is open. He played the last game, and did well against France. I see him play for Los Angeles Galaxy every now and then,” the Italian told sports daily Marca on Friday.

Dutch roar back as Greece sink Portugal again

The Netherlands staged a remarkable comeback to win 4-3 in Austria while European champions Greece beat Portugal 2-1 as all 16 Euro 2008 finalists contested friendlies on Wednesday. England midfielder David Beckham will not have happy memories of his 100th international appearance after Fabio Capello’s side suffered a 1-0 defeat to France in Paris.

David Beckham’s move to Major League Soccer may have been good for his wallet but it has apparently not helped his popularity in Asia. Empty seats and surprising indifference greeted soccer’s greatest star, who was mobbed like a rockstar on his first trip to the region, as he completed an Asian tour with LA Galaxy.

Beckham may get 100th cap

Fabio Capello has moved to reassure David Beckham that he will be given his 100th England cap this season and, despite concerns over the former captain’s fitness, he has been told he is ”in contention” for the friendly in France this month. Capello will send his general manager, Franco Baldini, to assess the 32-year-old in a friendly against FC Dallas in Texas on March 15.

Cristiano Ronaldo: Premier League’s entertainer

There is little doubt Cristiano Ronaldo is the Premier League’s greatest entertainer. David Beckham proved his superstar status on Friday as he trained in front of more than 15 000 screaming school children ahead of a weekend friendly between his Los Angeles Galaxy team and the Wellington Phoenix. ”David Beckham is Hot. Arsenal equals league’s record win

Arsenal and Manchester United moved closer to a place in the next round of the Champions League on Tuesday with big wins that extended the English duo’s perfect starts. Arsenal beat visiting Slavia Prague 7-0 to equal the competition’s biggest win, while English champion United won at Dynamo Kiev 4-2.
