Mining has been blamed for the death of more than 50 crocodiles along the Olifants River in Kruger National Park in the past month.
Ecologists at the Kruger National Park are puzzled over the recent spate of crocodile deaths, the park’s management said on Wednesday.
Limpopo’s environmental affairs and tourism department has given the go-ahead for rangers to kill lions that have escaped from the Kruger National Park, the South African Broadcasting Corporation reported on Wednesday. Five more cattle were killed by lions at Gawula village outside Giyani on Wednesday.

Located in the triangle between the Limpopo and Luvuvhu rivers where South Africa, Zimbabwe and Mozambique meet, the pan is more than an idyllic corner of the Kruger park.
