Nude Mexicans face jail time

Alarmed by glimpses of sweaty citizens in the buff, the city council in the south-eastern city of Villahermosa, Mexico, has adopted a law banning citizens from allowing themselves to be seen nude by the public, even while in their own homes, officials confirmed on Wednesday.

Mexico quietly eliminates death penalty

Mexico quietly moved to eliminate the death penalty from its military justice codes, hours before the International Court of Justice ruled on Wednesday that the United States violated the rights of 51 Mexicans on death row. The world court case was Mexican President Vicente Fox’s way of formally protesting US death sentences.
