SuperSport edge closer to title

SuperSport United took a step closer to winning their first Absa Premiership title when they beat Golden Arrows 2-0 in their penultimate fixture of the season at Atteridgeville’s Super Stadium on Wednesday night. United led 1-0 at half-time. The win heaps pressure on second-placed Ajax Cape Town, who play Santos on Thursday night.

Arrows, Wits play to a draw

Lamontville Golden Arrows and Bidvest Wits drew 2-2 in their Premier Soccer League clash at the King Goodwill Zwelithini Stadium in Umlazi on Saturday afternoon. Abafana Besithende, as Arrows are known, dominated the first 20 minutes of the game and were rewarded in the 10th minute with a goal.

Arrows beat AmaZulu 1-0

AmaZulu suffered their third straight defeat in the Absa Premier League when they lost 0-1 to Golden Arrows at Princess Magogo Stadium on Wednesday afternoon. AmaZulu were put to the test as early as the fourth minute when Thanduyise Khuboni’s header forced a brilliant save from AmaZulu goalkeeper Kalilio Kakonje.

Sundowns reign supreme in PSL

Suspect on the bigger stage in Africa, but continuing to reign supreme in South Africa, current Premier Soccer League (PSL) and Supa8 champions Mamelodi Sundowns sauntered to a 3-0 victory over Golden Arrows in the opening game of the lucrative Telkom Knockout Cup at Loftus on Wednesday night.
