Sudan’s security services have suspended the country’s two biggest newspapers to punish them for reporting on army operations, say editors.

About 13 Sudanese policemen were killed and 33 injured in clashes with armed groups in the troubled region of Darfur, officials said on Friday.
South Sudan’s declaration of independence on July 9 could end in one of three possible scenarios: A deal with North Sudan, a messy divorce or war.
Sudan President Omar Hassan al-Bashir on Tuesday pledged support for a new southern state as it voted overwhelmingly to split from the north.
Sudan’s army has killed more than 300 from Darfur’s rebel Justice and Equality Movement in recent clashes and 75 of its own soldiers also died.
