South Africa’s Richard Sterne moved into the world top 50 on Sunday after capturing the South African Open title.
South African Hennie Otto secured a maiden European Tour victory after a one-stroke triumph over Briton Oliver Wilson in the Italian Open on Sunday. Otto fired a closing-round 69 for a 25-under par tally of 263, one stroke clear of Wilson, who carded a bogey-free 64 on the Castello di Tolcinasco course.

South African Richard Sterne won the Jo’burg Open on Sunday at the Royal Johannesburg and Kengsington Golf Club after a dramatic three-way sudden death play-off against countryman Garth Mulroy and Swede Magnus Carlsson. The threesome who were tied at minus-13 after regulation play could still not be separated after they all birdied the par-five 18th.
