Established in 1990, Splashy Fen is South Africa’s longest-running music festival which every Easter attracts thousands of people to an idyllic farm near Underberg in KwaZulu-Natal’s Drakensberg for a unique outdoor music experience as mellow as it is manic.
The 2011 incanation takes place from April 21 to 25 and offers a four-day line-up of some of the country’s hottest acts presented with cutting edge sound and lighting plus a wide choice of outdoor leisure activities for the whole family. Add to that the beautiful scenery of the southern Drakensberg, an abundance of different food and drink outlets, colourful arts and crafts, a crèche and children’s entertainment programme as well as various camping and accommodation options and you’re set for a winner of a long weekend. Advance tickets are R500 from Computicket outlets around the country as well as at the Money Market counters at all Shoprite, Checkers and Checkers Hyper stores. Tickets are the gate are R650 on Thursday or Friday 22 April; R500 on Saturday and R150 on Sunday. Tickets for children aged 4 – 11 are R125
