THURSDAY, 11.00AM:
FEARS of relegation for Premier Soccer League team AmaZulu were allayed on Wednesday, when the PSL disciplinary committee awarded them two points.
The points were awarded to AmaZulu as a result of a three-month battle to disqualify two Bush Buck players who played without identity cards in a league match against AmaZulu in February. The game was drawn 0-0 and each side was awarded three points, but AmaZulu protested against the Bucks players. The protest was recognised as valid at a disciplinary hearing on Wednesday night, and the extra points were granted.
AmaZulu needed only one point to stay in the top league division, but had slender hopes of a win in either of this week’s scheduled matches against top teams Orlando Pirates and Kaizer Chiefs.
