Zim lose one by lunch

OWN CORRESPONDENT, Johannesburg | Wednesday 4.30pm.

ZIMBABWE went to lunch on 81/1 on the first day of their one-off Test match against the touring Indian team in Harare on Wednesday.

The Zimbabweans were sent in to bat on a lively wicket by Indian skipper Mohammed Azharuddin, and started well against the Indian bowling, who struggled at first to find a good line and length.

Gavin Rennie, on 21 at lunch, is acting as the anchor man, while Murray Goodwin is looking to keep the scoreboard ticking.

Rennie laid back for eight overs without scoring at one stage of the match, while Goodwin hammered Robin Singh and Ganguly for 15 runs in six balls.
