HEIST suspect Collin Chauke and two others on hunger strike in Pretoria’s C-Max prison are refusing medical attention, the correctional services department said on Wednesday. Department spokesperson Rudi Potgieter said the three claimed to have stopped eating on Friday, although they only received official notification of the hunger strike a few days later. “We arranged for a doctor to come and see them yesterday [Tuesday] but they refused medical treatment,” Potgieter said. The three men — Chauke, Prince Radebe and Colin Ngcina — are protesting their incarceration in C-Max, the high security section of Pretoria Central Prison. They were still in good health on Wednesday.
