ZIM POLICE TRACKING SYNDICATE

POLICE in Bulawayo said on Wednesday they were intensifying efforts to track the remaining four members of a syndicate which facilitated Zimbabwean illegals entering South Africa. Assistant commissioner George Muwadzuri said that police had stepped up intelligence gathering on the four who are now believed to be in hiding in South Africa. Muwadzuri said that so far police have arrested four members of the syndicate. The four have been convicted by the courts. The syndicate is alleged to have facilitated the fateful trip of Zimbabweans to South Africa through Botswana which ended in 18 fatalities when the border jumpers suffocated in a truck last October.
