ALAN Boesak, disgraced former anti-apartheid cleric, on Monday makes his first important appeal against his six-month jail sentence. Boesak and his legal team have until Monday afternoon to submit their final legal documentation on the plea on four counts of fraud and theft. A senior clerk at the appellate division in Cape Town, Amanda Gouws, says a petition date will be set, if Boesak succeeds with his application . Gouws said the process will be lengthy and can take up to one year before the matter is resolved.
