GAME WARDEN AQUITTED OF MURDER

FORMER Kenyan game warden Simon Ole has been acquitted of the murder 11 years ago of British tourist Julie Ward in the Maasai Mara wildlife reserve. the verdict is a bitter blow for her father John Ward, who has devoted more than a decade to uncovering the truth of his daughter’s final hours in Kenya. The court ruled that the evidence against Ole was circumstantial. Mr Ward, (66) who the judge commended for his efforts in trying to uncover the truth, made no immediate comment. Ms Ward’s charred and mutilated remains were found in Kenya’s famous Maasai Mara reserve on September 13 1988.
