THE All Africa Games has threatened to ban the men’s basketball team from Cameroon if any players are involved in yet another violent incident. The potential ban follows three matches in which players from opposite teams were injured and an official was attacked. In their game against South Africa on September 11, four South African players had to leave the court after receiving blows to the face. One of the South Africans had his nose broken. In Cameroon’s next match, on September 13, an Egyptian player had to be taken to hospital with a gash on his head which required 27 stitches. And against Angola, a Cameroon player attacked a referee. Cameroon still have to play Nigeria on Friday and Senegal on Saturday.
