SOME 40 Brazilian zebus arrived in Ouagadougou aboard an Air France chartered cargo plane on Tuesday to give a boost to Burkina Faso’s dairy and beef cattle industry. “The zebu from Brazil is adapted to our country’s climate,” said Alassane Serre, Minister of Animal Resources. Serre said the humped domestic oxen will be bred with local cattle in order to increase milk production, which will in turn improve production of beef. Burkina Faso exports meat to Cote d’Ivoire, Ghana, Togo and Benin.
