THE Police and Prisons Civil Rights Union announced on Wednesday it is cutting ties with the South African Police Union. “Popcru would like to put the record straight that we have noted the misleading allegations made by the South African Police Union against us that we have sold out our members in the pay dispute by demanding a 7,3% increment,” Popcru media officer Siyavuya Jafta said. “Popcru leadership has decided to break all working relationships with SAPU with immediate effect,” he said. However SAPU has denied that it made any allegations to this effect. It said it informed Pocru last week that it is severing relations with it over Popcru’s failure to keep to the terms of an agreement of co-operation between the two unions.
