ROCKFALL KILLS TWO

TWO South African gold miners were killed in a rockfall at the Deelkraal mine near Carletonville early on Monday, mineowners Anglogold said. The miners were working at a depth of 2,754 metres when a seismic tremor set off the rockfall. The tremor registered 1.3 on the open-ended Richter Scale, said the company, the world’s largest gold producer. No other miners were injured.
