HORAN UNAWARE HE WON 10000

AUSTRALIAN centre Tim Horan was unaware he had won 10000 for scoring the fastest try of the World Cup, team officials said on Monday. Horan crossed the Romanian line within 92 seconds of the start of Australia’s 57-9 win on Sunday and was told of his good fortune this morning. Sponsors Guinness had said it would offer 10000 to the first player to cross the try line quicker than it takes to pour a pint of its black stout – 119.5 seconds. Horan will donate the money to a charity of his choice. Any player who beats the 119.5 second barrier in the rest of the five-week tournament will win a year’s supply of Guinness in cans. Horan is expected to decide his favourite charity within the next 24 hours.
