KALLIS WON’T BOWL

SOUTH African allrounder Jacques Kallis will not bowl in the first two Tests against England this summer.

Kallis is suffering from severe tendonitis of the left knee, and will probably only bowl in the third Test at Kingsmead on Boxing Day.

Kallis was advised not to bowl by specialist, Spike Eramsus, who examined him in Cape Town on Monday. Kallis will consult Erasmus on a weekly basis for an update on his fitness progress.

Allan Donald, South Africa’s other struggling bowler, South Africa had a private workout at the Wanderers on Monday and is pleased with the results.

Donald picked up a rib muscle injury in the second Test against Zimbabwe in Harare and will undergo a full fitness test on Wednesday.
