THE Northern Province government presented three game reserves to potential investors on Tuesday in a bid to secure R70 million in investment. Provincial MEC for finance, trade, industry and tourism, Thaba Mufamadi, urged investors at a special conference to take ownership of tourist facilities at the Manyaleti, Letaba and Andover game reserves on the border of the Kruger National Park. “We believe that this is where our greatest tourism potential lies and where it may be achieved with most success in the short to medium term,” he explained before a tour of the facilities. He said the province had 53 nature reserves which all had the potential to be privatised as a means to speed up economic development. He assured that commercialising nature reserves would not interfere with the natural integrity of the affected environments.
