OVER R2-million worth of advertising space has been donated by websites to the Aids Online Challenge, part of the greater Aids awareness campaign on the go in the country. It is the largest online advertising campaign ever seen in South Africa. The initiative’s main sponsor, Oracle Online Sales, has invited top creative online agencies to show off their skills and produce advertising campaigns aimed at getting internet users to electronically ‘sign’ the pledge against Aids. The DM&G is a co-sponsor and supporter of the challenge. South Africa continues to have the fastest growing HIV/Aids epidemic in the world. 1500 people are infected with HIV/Aids every day.
