THE Northern Free State Griffons went down 39-15 to to the North-West Leopards in their niggly Vodacom Cup match at Olen Park in Potchefstroom on Friday night. The Leopards were on top among the forwards, but handling among both sides was disappointing. The Leopard scored three tries, with both wingers crossing the line. Julian Ruiters scored once, while Keith Meyer got two. Roland de Marigny kicked seven penalties, while Meyer chipped in with a drop-goal. The Griffons’ points came from five penalties, three by Ehan Helmand and two by Tommie de Beer.
