UGANDA CULT INVESTIGATION WIDENED

UGANDAN forensic experts extended a gruesome investigation on Tuesday into a doomsday sect which appears to have murdered more than 500 people in a church blaze and other mass killings in Uganda. Police in Mbarara in the south west of the country said that doctors and criminal investigators are to inspect three new sites on land belonging to the cult known as the Movement for the Restoration of the Ten Commandments of God. On Monday, more than 60 bodies were dug up by prisoners brought to the nearby village of Rugazi, on land owned by one of the four top leaders of the cult, Dominic Kataribabo. At least 330 sect members died in a fire that was triggered by a bomb blast in their makeshift church at Kanungu over a week ago.
