SA FLOODS COSTS BILLIONS

The cost of the recent floods in South Africa has reached an estimated R2,5-billion and is still rising, Public Works Minister Stella Sigcau said on Thursday. The figure only accounts for the cost of reconstruction work, and did not include costs of a social nature, like food, she said. “Now we have to find the money to make good the damage and we must use that money intelligently.”
