THE International Cricket Council (ICC) has asked the South African cricket board to speed up an inquiry into the betting scandal involving sacked national captain Hansie Cronje. “We have advised them (the South African board) to conduct the inquiry as soon as possible,” said ICC President Jagmohan Dalmiya in Calcutta. “His (Cronje’s) admission and other allegations made by the police in India require an immediate and thorough investigation and the ICC awaits an early outcome.”
