UCT APPOINTS NEW VICE CHANCELLOR

PROFESSOR Njabulo Ndebele is the new vice chancellor of the University of Cape Town. The author and academic will succeed Dr Mamphela Ramphele, who will be leaving to take up a position in the World Bank. Ndebele will leave his position in the Ford Foundation in New York to take over as vice chancellor of UCT from July. He previously served as the same role at the University of the North as well as holding academic positions at the universities of the Western Cape and Witwatersrand.
