UGANDAN COPS EXHUME 55 MORE CULT BODIES

FIFTY-FIVE more bodies of murdered men, women and children have been found in a mass grave in the Kampala home of a leader of a cult blamed for the deaths of about 1000 people, police said. Police spokesman Assuman Mugenyi said the bodies were exhumed from a small Kampala house rented by Father Dominic Kataribaabo, a top leader of the Movement for the Restoration of the Ten Commandments. More than 780 people are now known to have died at the hands of the cult. Some 330 people died in a fire at the cult compound at Kanungu on March 17. A further 395 — mainly women and children — were later exhumed from three buildings connected to the cult in western Uganda. The latest find was of 22 women, 15 men, eight boys and 10 girls. One was an eight-month-old baby, said the spokesman.
