FERREIRA TEAMS UP WITH WILANDER

WAYNE Ferreira, ranked twenty-three in the world, has sharpened his mental toughness by hiring Sweden’s Mats Wilander. Wilander, a multiple Grand Slam winner was renowned for his mental toughness which helped him take home no less than thirty-three career singles titles. Wilander joined Ferreira in Hamburg this week. “I decided to use Mats to help the phsychological aspects of my game” said Ferreira. “Mats will not be involved in the technical aspect of my tennis, he will help me mentally prepare for each match and work on my mental toughness during matches. Ferreira’s new approach seems to be paying dividends as he beat Patrick Rafter earlier this week with a fine performance.
