A FIRE has gutted a disused mill in Newtown, where the Market Theatre, jazz bar Kippies and other cultural initiatives are also situated, in central Johannesburg. It is not known if any of the buildings surrounding the deserted Friedlanders Mill have been damaged. The fire was first reported at about 7am. At least seven fire trucks were sent to fight the blaze.
