CELLULAR operator MTN has denied that it was guilty of overcharging subscribers, maladministration and fraudulent sales. The denial comes after a report in the Mail & Guardian last week, which appeared to plough through letters and papers relating to insurance and tax issues, Business Report said. A representative of the South African Revenue Service (Sars) said allegations in the report relating to VAT charges would have be investigated before comment could be made. A statement from Sars is expected early this week. The article failed to make a dent on M-Cell’s share price on Friday, which closed 160c firmer at R21,30.
