82-YEAR-OLD CRITICAL AFTER FARM ATTACK

AN 82-year-old man is in a critical condition in hospital after he and his elderly sister were overpowered and assaulted by three gunmen during a robbery on their farm outside Zeerust on Sunday night. Inspector Erica Roos said the men hit the siblings and demanded liquor and money before fleeing from the farm Koedoesfontein. ”The sister identified only as Mrs Reyneke (71) stayed with her brother Mr Meyer inside their house until Monday morning when the workers arrived at the house. Then only did they inform police about the incident and rush her brother to the hospital,” Roos said. Reyneke was treated at a local hospital before being discharged. No arrests have been made. – Sapa
