SA DEVELOPMENT BANK RECEIVES R130M

THE Development Bank of SA (DBSA) will receive more than R130-million from the German Development Bank to finance, among others, municipal infrastructure projects, the DBSA said on Thursday. The signing ceremony of a DM28,5-million (about R124,8-million) loan and a DM1,5-million (about R6,5-million) grant will take place in Johannesburg on Monday. ”The loan funds will be used for financial municipal projects (water, waste water, storm water drainage, roads, and electrification) for the lower income groups,” DBSA said in a statement. The grant would be used for support measures for the municipalities and DBSA operations. The funds followed negotiations between the government and its German counterpart last year. – Sapa
