A 28-year-old teacher appeared in the Germiston Magistrate’s Court on Tuesday hours after being arrested in connection with the indecent assault of a pupil in March, East Rand police said. Inspector Joep Joubert said the teacher was arrested after a 12-year-old girl filed a complaint. The Child Protection Unit was still investigating the matter. Joubert was unable to say whether the teacher had been released on bail.
