Durex condoms were looking for a minimum of 500 South Africans to take part in a global sex survey to be represented in the results which would be released on World Aids Day.
Durex representative Jo Rossi said the survey currently running online at durex.com would be live until October 12.
She said the survey was being carried out in 52 countries and lovers from South Africa to Thailand and Poland to Croatia had already gone online to share their secrets.
Rossi said Durex was surveying the globe to determine the sexual attitudes and behaviour of people worldwide.
The global sex survey was first launched in 1996 and for the first time ever was now live online.
She said that although the survey had a fun element, it focused on serious issues and the importance of safe sex.
Last year the survey revealed that almost a fifth of South Africans were taking no measures to prevent the spread of HIV/Aids.
Of those who did, only 14% insisted on using a condom for casual sex and just six percent would ask their partner about their sexual history.
Although condoms proved to be the most popular form of
contraception in South Africa, used by 48% of people, 11% admitted they used no protection. – Sapa
