NAMIBIAN TEACHER CHARGED WITH RAPE

A 26-year-old teacher in Opuwo, north west of Windhoek appeared in the town’s magistrate’s court after he allegedly raped a 13-year-old pupil, the Namibian Press Agency reported. The grade six pupil ran away from the Alpha School after the rape and the case was subsequently reported to the police last week. The school’s principal, James Kahohoi said the teacher was arrested earlier this week. The girl told the authorities she had been involved in a relationship with the teacher since February. – Sapa
