Brazilian coach takes over Sundowns

Brazilian coach Luis Oscar Fullone-Arce has been appointed head coach of Sundowns.

The announcement was made by club president Patrice Motsepe in Johannesburg on Friday.

The South American signed a two-year deal with Sundowns and will take over from caretaker coach Roger Feutmba from July 1.

It was announced that Feutmba, the former Sundowns midfielder, would continue until the season ended.

Feutmba took over the reins immediately after the sudden departure of another Brazilian, Dalma Calvallante, who left Downs prematurely. The club said its coach had to be relieved in order to be alongside his ailing wife.

Fullone, who will be the technical director, says his goal is to make Sundowns happy.

Fullone is said to have worked in Cot’e Ivoire where he coached Asec Mimosa, leading them to victory in the Champions Cup and the Federation Cup, and the National Cup and the Presidential Cup in 1997. – Sapa
