South African World Cup training squad named

South Africa coach Rudolf Straeuli named a 35-man Rugby World Cup training squad on Monday.

Backs: Gcobani Bobo, Jaque Fourie, Louis Koen, Jorrie Muller, Ashwin Willemse (Golden Lions), Derick Hougaard, Fourie du Preez, Joost van der Westhuizen, Jaco van der Westhuysen (Blue Bulls), De Wet Barry, Neil de Kock, Jean de Villiers (Western Province), Ricardo Loubscher, Brent Russell, Stefan Terblanche (Natal), Thinus Delport (Falcons).

Forwards: Richard Bands, Christo Bezuidenhout, Bakkies Botha, Danie Coetzee, Geo Cronje, Victor Matfield, Pedrie Wannenburg (Bulls), Selborne Boome, Quinton Davids, Robbie Kempson, Corne Krige (capt) (Province), CJ van der Linde, Hendro Scholtz, Juan Smith (Free State), Lucas van Biljon, John Smit (Natal), Joe van Niekerk, Lawrence Sephaka (Lions), Dale Santon (South Western Districts).

Rehabilitation squad: Werner Greeff, Breyton Paulse, Faan Rautenbach (Province), Andre Pretorius (Lions), Bob Skinstad (unattached).
