Former France captain Marcel Desailly has denied reports he wants to play for Scottish champions Celtic.
The most-capped player in French football history, who was released after six years with Chelsea, said he has yet to make his mind up about his future.
”I can either turn the page on my sporting career or continue the adventure and I have yet to decide,” he said.
Reports said the 35-year-old — who was on £2-million a year at Stamford Bridge — will be ready to take a pay cut to join Celtic.
Desailly has won the European Cup with Marseille and AC Milan and his agent, Willie McKay, told the Glasgow Daily Record he is interested in playing in the Scottish Premier League.
He joined Chelsea for £5-million in 1998, just a few days after having been the driving force behind France’s World Cup triumph.
Desailly won 116 caps and a Euro 2000 winners’ medal but he was dropped by France at Euro 2004 after Rangers’ new signing Dado Prso left him for dead for Croatia’s second goal in a 2-2 draw. — Sapa-AFP
