A man in Germany might have escaped with murdering his wife had it not been for a telemarketer’s call, police said on Tuesday.
The husband had just stabbed his wife when the phone rang and she grabbed the phone and stammered, ”Please help me, my husband’s killing me,” before he wrenched the receiver out of her hand.
The unidentified telemarketer initially thought it might be a ruse to shake off pesky telemarketers such as herself. But she nonetheless called the police and gave them the number.
Tracing the number to a home in the Black Forest town of Geislingen, police found a man trying to dispose of the body of his 27-year-old wife. He now faces charges of murder. — Sapa-DPA
