Kate Moss in Cape Town

Supermodel Kate Moss — whose career was severely dented after news reports claimed she was a regular user of cocaine — is in Cape Town, News24 reported on Friday.

But the slinky model didn’t appear to be the world’s happiest catwalk queen as she verbally attacked photograhers who approached her for a picture at a hotel in the city on Wednesday.

She was ”visibly nervous” on the eve of a two-day photo session in Cape Town, the report said.

She shouted at photographers who approached her when she popped into a hotel with two friends.

”Go away,” she was quoted as saying.

”I’m so upset at you being here. I’m so upset!” she added, before dropping down into a chair and covering her face with her hands.

Her outburst upset others in the group.

One of them, Vernon Coetzee, said: ”We were impressed because she had fitted in so nicely and everybody was having a good time.

”Then she started screaming. It was embarrassing, she looked so old and bitter.”

Moss (31) landed in Cape Town on Tuesday. She left her boyfriend, Pete Doherty, in London.

International news agency reports this week quoted United Kingdom tabloid The Sun as reporting that Doherty, described as Moss’s ”on-off” boyfriend, had been arrested on suspicion of drug possession.

Doherty (26) was stopped by police as he drove along a street in West London early on Wednesday, the tabloid reported.

The Metropolitan police confirmed that officers had stopped a car driving erratically in the area.

The force said ”substances” were found and a 26-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of possessing drugs.

The suspect was taken to a local police station and later was released on bail. He is due to report to police next month pending further inquiries.

Doherty, former lead singer with indie rockers The Libertines, now fronts the band Babyshambles. – Sapa
