Small cut in petrol price

South Africa’s petrol price for all grades will decline by two cents a litre from midnight on Tuesday February 2, the Department of Minerals and Energy announced on Friday.

The wholesale price of diesel 0,3% sulphur will decrease by eight cents per litre and that of diesel 0,05% sulphur by seven cents per litre.

The wholesale price of illuminating paraffin will fall by four cents per litre, while the single maximum national retail price of illuminating paraffin will decline by five cents a litre on the same date.

During the review period, the average international product prices of petrol and illuminating paraffin increased, while the price of diesel declined.

The average rand/dollar exchange rate weakened when compared with the previous period. The average rand/dollar exchange rate for the period was R5,9206 compared with R5,7867 during the previous period. — I-Net Bridge
