The police have offered a reward for information leading to the arrest and prosecution of the killers of a senior Free State government official.
”No arrests had yet been made in the investigation into the murder of [Noby] Ngombane,” police spokesperson Superintendent Annelie Wrench said on Wednesday.
The reward is up to R100 000.
Ngombane was shot at his home in Hillsboro, Bloemfontein, last Tuesday.
He apparently went to investigate a vehicle parked outside his house, when shots were fired at him. He ran inside and collapsed in the kitchen.
He died about an hour later in a Bloemfontein hospital.
Wrench said on Wednesday that the head of the police team investigating the murder had confirmed that Ngombane’s widow would be approached.
