Three people were injured on Wednesday when an Air Zimbabwe Boeing 737 made an emergency landing at Johannesburg International airport, an Airports Company South Africa spokesperson said.
Jacqui O’Sullivan said the injured three were a pregnant woman, an epileptic and a passenger suffering from back pains.
She said the Boeing from Harare made an emergency landing at 8.45am when the pilot noticed smoke in the cockpit.
Ninety-three passengers and six crew members were immediately evacuated using emergency chutes.
O’Sullivan said the aircraft has been towed away from the runway.
The injured were taken to the Harmelia clinic in Edenvale, where they were reported to be in a stable condition. — Sapa
