The Durban home of the 31-year-old woman who has accused former deputy president Jacob Zuma of raping her was broken into and trashed days after he was formally charged, City Press reported on Sunday.
About five men, armed with 9mm pistols and revolvers, stormed into the yard of the four-roomed Kwa-Mashu house, tied up the security guard looking after the property and entered the kitchen through the roof before they ransacked the house.
The attack occurred about 2am on Thursday, City Press said, barely two days after Zuma appeared in the Johannesburg Magistrate’s Court where he was charged with rape and granted R20 000 bail.
Kwa-Mashu police confirmed they are investigating the incident.
According to the indictment, the HIV-positive Aids activist accused Zuma of raping her when she spent a night at his Johannesburg home. — Sapa
